ASOBAL league 2011-12

ASOBAL league is the Spanish Handball league. Every year Ciudad Real and FC Barcelona fight to win this trophy. Since last summer, Ciudad Real has changed his name and now is BM Atlético de Madrid. So, this year Atlético de Madrid and Barça are fighting to win ASOBAL league.
Currently, both teams win all the other teams and they have to win themselves. Therefore, matches between Atletico and Barça decide who win the league.
First game Atletico against Barça was on 10 December 2011 in Madrid. FCB won 23-25 and get a fantastic result to win ASOBAL.
Second game between both teams was on 12 May 2012 in Barcelona. There Atletico de Madrid won 29-30. That's a bad result for Atletico because now both teams are tied but FCB would win ASOBAL for "goal average".
However, Atletico de Madrid is the Champions League finale in Köln so until they can be European Champion. Meanwhile, Barça lost against Copenhagen and they won't be able to resisue their European Championship.
In my opinion, altogether FCB's team is better than Atletico's team. Individually, Atletico is better than FCB. Offensively Atletico de Madrid is better than Barça but defensively is opposite; Barça is better. So, Atletico-Barça games are so equal and either can win

2011-12 School year

After 8 months here we are, ready for PAU 2012! In general, this year has been good for me.

We started in September when we were doing ours Researches Projects. Those times were difficult for us as we had to work in TdR everyday. Finally we gave over in December and we could "relax" on Christmas holidays. Then, at beginning of year, we could really focus on 2nd Batxillerat but it was hard too. After easter holidays, the countdown started. Since April, all teachers wanted finish their agendas to Selectivitat. However, in some subjects as Latin, Maths and English; we have finished the agenda yet and now we can review to Selectivitat exams. 

Personally, this 2011-12 school year also has been very good for me. Although all the work, I felt very good with all my classmates, they did that this school year go over so quick. 2nd Batxillarat is a special year because next year we'll separate. It's a shame that we couldn't go to London. 

Salvados

Jordi Evole, known as El Follonero, directs a TV program called Salvados. This project was born on 2008. At the beginning Salvados only broadcast in special moments: European football championships, Spanish elections... After a year, the program became weekly (every Sunday at 9.30 p.m.)
In the current, they season talked about a lot of polemical topics: Qatar Foundation, Urdangarín, monarchy, police, banks...
Salvados is one of the few that are worth to see because they do fantastic reports about current topics and use a bit of humour too. I think that Jordi Evole won't be El Follonero anymore, now he's Jordi as a reporter.

Metal Gear Solid Series (Part 1 and 2)

Metal Gear Solid is a series of a stealth video games created by Hideo Kojima. The first game was released in 1998 for PS one. This game, called Metal Gear Solid had a low quality but had an excellent and original plot. The main character is Solid Snake who's a spy. He have to infiltrate to Shadow Moses, an old military base. There, a group called FOXHOUND was developing the biggest weapon of massive destruction: Metal Gear REX. After a few missions in Shadow Moses, Snake get in to the base and overcome FOXHOUND members (Liquid, Ocelot and Raven). However, Ocelot, whom Snake cut a arm, managed to survive.
Metal Gear 2 was released in 2001 for PS2. It explains two parts of Metal Gear Solid stories: tank chapter and plant chapter. The tank chapter is two years after Shadow Moses incident, in 2007. At that time, Snake had to infiltrate to a ship where US marine were developing a new Metal Gear, RAY. Snake got in to ship but Metal Gear RAY was stolen by Ocelot.
The plant chapter is two years after tank chapter and is about other character, Raiden. He must infiltrate to a plant where a terrorist group, called Deadcell, retained US president. Deadcell had enough bombs to blow up New York. Raiden must overcome against Deadcell members; Solidus, Fortune, Fatman, Vamp and Ocelot. Solidus, Deadcell chief, fight against Raiden in New York, in the Federal Hall. Finally, Raiden kill Solidus, Fortune and Fatman but Vamp and Ocelot get to survive.
Metal Gear Solid series is more than a simply video game, it's like a film. I think they should make a film!

Marinaleda

Marinaleda, a little village located in Andalucía, isn't a common place. Since democratic transition only one mayor has ruled the village: Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo from Izquierda Unida (Left Union). Sánchez Gordillo has governed all legislatures by absolute majority
After Franco's dead, Marinaleda people started to manifest against a landowner who owned the majority lands but he didn't want cultivate them. After a years of fight, Marinaleda people get eject the landowner.
Policies Marinaleda carries out are opposite from EU and USA policies. City council have all village land. They yield plots to people which want build a house. People must pay €15 monthly (more or less). To change, people have to help to build the house.
Furthermore, every body can check the municipal budget: town council have a list, which everyone can see, with all municipal expenses. Besides town hall organizes an assembly per week. All people from Marinaleda can go there and express to mayor their thoughts or problems.
Marinaleda is a "famous" village for his particularity and stars a lot of news, reports... even songs! Here is an interview to Sánchez Gordillo

Animal Farm by G. Orwell

One of the lasts books I've read is Animal Farm by George Orwell. Orwell published this novel on 17 August 1945 and it talks about a animal revolution against humans. There are a parallelism between Animal Farm and the Socialist revolution in 1917 in Russia (Soviet Union).

Plot (spoiler)
The story starts with a speech by Old Major, the oldest pig in the farm. He says that humans use all animals as slavers and encourages to the other animal to begin a rebellion and get the control of the farm. They should create a fair farm.

After few weeks Old Major died but the other animals got his message. In fact, they did the animal rebellion and expelled humans from the farm. From that moment, animals organize themselves; without human slavery. At the start all animals were glad for the new order because they work less than before.
Although, early started the troubles: pigs, the cleverest animals in the farm, were arguing for the power. Specially, Snowball and Napoleon pigs wanted the farm power. Their projects were opposed but both agreed with the revolution. After some quarrelling, Napoleon got the power (using violence).
Napoleon became the unique leader and he got some violent dogs to attack one that didn't agree with him. Besides, he created a "elite" formed by pigs which began to act like humans (they drunk alcohol, they wore clothes etc.) There wasn't any human in the farm but animals were slaves again.

Personal reflection

I think this book is a perfect way to know about Soviet Revolution: first of all Marx (Old Major) talked about a revolution. Then, Russian people did that rebellion (animals) and ejected Tsar (humans) and two leaders, Trotsky (Snowball) and Napoleon (Stalin) discussed for the power. Finally, Stalin get the power and established a dictatorship.

Harry Potter series. SPOILER, EXCEPT THE LAST NOVEL

Harry Potter is a series of seven books and eight films. The writer, JK Rowling, finish to write the first book (Harry Potter and Phlosofer's Stone) on 1997. The seventh and the final book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) was released on 2007. Seven years before, on 2000, Warner Bros company produced the film of first book. Last film was released on 2011.
Harry Potter's story explains the life of a young wizard, Harry Potter, who must win the powerful dark wizard ever, Lord Voldemort. Harry, when he was a baby, beat Voldemort and the most of wizards thought that Voldemort was death. Although, he returns on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (fourth novel). A few years later, Harry and Albus Dumbledore (magican school's director) discovered the Lord Voldermort's secret (I won't divulge for people who don't know the story). After the director's death, Harry and his best friends (Ron Wesley and Hermione Granger) must kill Voldemort.


Me and Harry Potter
I discovered Harry Potter on 2001, when I watched for first time Harry Potter and Philosofer's Stone on cinema with my parents. In those times I liked the story, but it's possible that I don't know the truth Harry Potter's plot (I was a child).
A few years later I watched the films of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (second novel/film) and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban (third novel / film). At third film, I discovered the real plot of the series. For this reason, the Magician Kings give me, as a present, all the Harry Potter books. However, I didn't read those books until four or five years.
So, I watch the four film without read books. After that film, I started to read the books and I bought the new novels (all series except the last novel). Some years later, I went to the cinema to watch Harry Potter and the Order of Fenix (fifth novel / film). That time was different watch the film because I read the book before and I imagined different some scenes. 
After a couple of years, I watch Harry Potter and Half-blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1). The last film, released last year, was the second part of the last book. The special effects of this movie were amazing but the final of the series is a bit different than the book. Although, that film is so good.
My favourite Harry Potter novel is the third, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban because is when Harry began to know that Voldemort can returns. Furthermore, I like HP3 because Harry met with important characters to series as Sirius Black or Remus Lupin.
Concluding, Harry Potter is an amazing series which represents to me my initiation in real literature.

Gregorio Luri

Before Christmas, we went to "Jornada de Filosofia de l'Alt Empordà" in Figueres. There we met with other 2nd Batxillerat students. We talked and discussed about a basic topic in the modern philosophy: the progress.
First of all, all the students were divided in nine groups. This groups had to discuss about that topic and then, in the auditorium explain the conclusions. After that, a student from each school did a speech about the progress. In INS Castelló's case, the student was Adrián Santeliz. To finish the philosophical day, Gregorio Luri, a philosopher, did a long speech about the origins of the process idea.
Luri, whose thesis at university was about Greece philosophy, said that classical people didn't think as us the progress. It wasn't until Middle Age when people began to think the progress as a line. This thought was more powerful with French Revolution and Liberalism (XVIII century). Now, after two world wars, the progress is in crisis: is it true that humanity always improve?
Luri also commented our debates. He said that we are the real young people and he criticized the media because they only talk about "nini" young people.
I have to say that Luri's confidence was a bit boring because he was talking about the same topic about two hours. Although, I think it was a nice experience to listen a real philosopher.

Carnival!

On Carnival I dressed up as Wally (from Where's Wally?). Other people dressed up with me. They were Guillem Costa, Simon, Pablo, Oliver, Guillem Montero, Guillermo, Quim and Aleix.
On Friday 17, we went to Roses Carnival (in my opinion, the best Carnival on Alt Empordà). We met in front of a hotel which is near to the sea. Then, we went to the Carnival parade. However, we wanted go party so we went to "L'Embalat" where is the real party. From that moment (for the abundance of people and for the alcohol) we began to separate and lost ourselves. In my case, I went to Roses Pavilion (I don't rememberer why!). There was other party but I didn't know anybody there. Finally, I could return to "L'Embalat". Suddenly, in the way of return, I met with Simon and his girlfriend who were waiting to catch a bus. After that, I arrive to "L'Embalat" where I met Pablo. He returned me to my home.
On Saturday 18, I went to Sant Pere Pescador Carnival. This Carnival is litter than Roses Carnival but is funny too. Only four wallys went to Sant Pere Carnival, the four "Guillems" (Guillem Costa, Guillem Montero, Guillermo and me). I went to Sant Pere with Montero, Costa went with his parents.
We arrived very early to Sant Pere, so we went to Guillermo's house (Nuria and Sandra came with us too). There we spend two hours, more or less. Then, we went to Civic Centre to began the party. At 4.00 a.m. I return to my house

Utopia: The perfect society

It's true that the perfection doesn't exist. Although, how it would be a perfect society? I will try to describe my perfect society.
First of all, I wanna say that this hypothetical society is only an utopia. I think that humanity can't live in the society I will describe. By the way we are going, humanity will never live in this utopia. 
Starting with the actual cities, the first thing I would do is close the churches and do museums there. Religions have done so much harm to humanity since they were created (wars, ignorance, hates, deaths).
Other thing I would do is eliminate the power: everybody control himself. That means no police, no political parties. I think that nobody can say to other what to do or what don't to do. Surely I would eliminate kings, dictators, emperors and similar. It's sad that in XXI century, kings still exist. It's a medieval way to organize a country.
The money is other thing I would change. In my opinion, today we give a lot importance to money. That can't be good, money is just paper! Therefore, I would eliminate the banks and the multinationals because they dominate our lifes.
Continuing the utopia, I would abolish borders. Countries are other important cause of wars. Both world wars were originated for national conflicts. 
In all probably this "communist" society only exists in my mind and never will exist. Only it's a dream, but for that are the dreams ;)

THUG 2

Tony Hawk's Underground 2 is a game for Playstation 2. Even if was released in 2004, today I play usually to this game. It's one of the bests games I played ever because the gameplay is awesome and the graphics aren't bad.
THUG 2 is about do skateboarding. You can choose what mode you want play: story mode, classic mode or free skate.
Story mode is the most important mode on the game. This mode have a plot: you are a rookie skater who is "kidnapped" by the veterans skaters. They are organized the "World Destruction Tour". In this trip, skaters, divided in two teams, will travel around the world doing bizarre things as destroy old buildings, burn the hair of some policemen or decapitate a few statues. When the thing is more bizarre, more points for your team. Skaters go to places as Boston, Barcelona, Berlin, Australia or New Orleans. At the end of story, they go to Skatopia, a place created to do skate.
Classic mode is completely different to story mode. Here, there's not plot, only objectives. The player must complete these objective to unlock new cities or places. Between this cities there are Los Angeles, Canada or Philadelphia.  
Summarizing, THUG is a varied game where you can find good gameplay, acceptable graphics and an excellent story. 

A film: Martín (Hache) (NO SPOILER)

Summary

Martín (Federico Luppi) is an Argentinian write screenwriter and film producer. Five years ago, he went to live to Madrid because he was able to find job in Spain and because he hates Argentina. He have a 19-year-old son, also called Martín (Juan Diego Botto) who is known as Hache.  Hache is a young man who doesn't work and doesn't study. One night in a concert, Hache was stood up by his girlfriend. After that, he takes drugs and he suffer a overdose. Everybody in his family thought that Martín was looking for the suicide. 

This changed his live: he went to live with his father, in Madrid. There, he'll meet with other people as Dante (Eusebio Poncela), an actor and Martín's friend, or Alicia (Cecilia Roth) Martín's girlfriend. 

Personal reflection 

Martín (Hache) is, in my opinion, an excellent film: in this movie, you can find reflections about drugs, politics, philosophy...  The four main characters (Hache, Martín, Dante and Alicia) represent four different ways to see the world. 

Hache is the young people that is misunderstood and need help from adults (but he don't want it, like the young people). Also he think that the revolution, to do real justice, is possible if everybody works to do. 

Martín, Hache's father, is more sceptical than his son. He thinks that nobody can change the world. In this moment of the film, Martín express his philosophy about the life. Martín is a solitaire man, he can't live with somebody. He's asocial and egocentric ever with his son and with his girlfriend, Alicia. Martín only wants that Hache have a good present. He lost the hopes with him. Martín hates the nostalgia and the passionate love 
Dante, the actor, is a little bit bohemian. He takes drugs (not to work). He says that drugs open his mind. Dante defends that people must life in the way that they think. Most of the time, Dante agrees with Hache's thoughts.
Alicia thinks similar to Dante. She take drugs like him. Although, she falls in love with Martín who don't want marry with anybody. That'll give some problems to both. 
In conclusion, I think that Martín (Hache) is an extraordinary film that makes you think about some important themes.

Last school year

Now I will talk about last school year. Today, after summer, I can say that last year was the best school year for me. I get good marks and I enjoy during the year. I learned a lot of things too.
At the begining I was a little scared because I started Batxillerat. But quickly, I adapt to new timetable and more work. In the clasroom I enjoy during the year for Simon, Guillem C., Sebas, Paul, Pep, Quim, Omar and the rest of our classrom. With that people, was like return to childrish: we laugh, we turn the our bags, draw cricatures of ourselves... Here are a cricature drawed for Paul

I will explain this picture: Guillaemon is Guillem C. That's because he's head is so big and because is a little deaf (and Doraemon don't have ears), Adolf Zbinden is for Simon. That's because he's from Swiss and we say to him that he's nazi (but obiously is a lie). Sebas got that look for his long hair. Omar is draw it only like a black man. Tucaquim is for Quim, and that's for his long nose. "Unpeploompa! is for Pep because we said to him that looks like oompaloompa. And the last one I'm a monkey because Paul didn't find any strange feature. Maybe it's for my segond name: Mancilla is easy became to "Moncilla" from "mono". A few months later that Paul drew it that, they found me a feature: my big ears!
I hope this year I can repeat the last year experience but I know that 2nd Batxillerat is harder than 1st. But, for now I'm enjoing it too ;-)

inFamous

inFamous is a Playstation videogame. The plot explains the story of Cole MacGrath, a bike mensenger. Cole was working when a strange bomb exploted near him. The explotion caused the destruction of all buldings of the city but Cole didn't die. He get electric powers and he became a super hero with electric powers. At the begining he don't know how to use these powers but during the game he learn it. Also, during first game he must destroy some bands that want get the power of city.
The visual graphics of this game are awesome, it seems that the player is in the city too. inFamous is an original game because for first time you can choose if you want to be "a good person" or a "bad person". Depending of your actions your karma can be positive or negative: for example, if you kill innocent people your negative karma will grow up. The player controls Cole with absolut freedom for all the city. We can use Cole's powers when we want do it. The main powers of Cole are: the thunder (to kill enemies) , the voltaic wave (to move things as cars), the thunder fell, the tension granade, the stactic thursters and the electric storm.
I discovered inFamous last summer. PlayStation Network (PSN) failed last spring and to reward the problems, give to users a free videogame to dowload. So in summer, I downloaded for free inFamous. After I discovered that on june inFamous 2 were in the stores. At begining of Novemeber, my cousin give me for my birthday a mini game of inFamous called inFamous: Festival of Blood where Cole is a vamp.

20N

Tomorrow (20N), Spain celebrates general elections. Zapatero, the actual president, anunciated in summer that in 20 November. Until now, PSOE governed Spain with minority.
The majority of suveys for the 20N elections are saying that PP will win with absolut majority. I think this will happen because a lot of people is agry with PSOE. The majority of people think that Zapatero did bad a lot of things to finish the economical crisis and they look for a solution in PP. I don't think that to vote PP is the solution because will do the same as PSOE: do the things that EU say.
In my opinon, spanish people must to vote other politcal parties than PSOE or PP because in the background they are the same. Both parties are interesed in keep this system and our system is dying gradually. We can change this voting politcal parties who really want change (not PP who say: "Vote for the change") as for example Escons en Blanc, Partit Pirata and others.
Sumarizing, PP will win for majority the elections of tomorrow because the majority of people in Spain thinks that they can change this but, in my opinion, PP won't change nothing. To resume my ideas I will took a sentence that I discover on Facebook: "Entre rosas y gaviotas nos han tomado por idiotas" (Between roses and gulls, they have taken us as iditots)

Club Joventut Roses 18 - 14 Club Joventut Mataró

This year, I play for Club Joventut Roses because Club Handbol Esplais (my ex team) and Club Joventut Roses merged in 2009. Thit led that some categories play in Roses and other in Castelló.
Last weekend, handball regular season started. We played against Club Joventut Mataró who last year we (Club Handbol Esplais) won  for one goal. Altrhough, my new team mates never have won any handball match and they wanted win the first.
Normally the final score is about 25 goals but these match finished 18-14. Thit shows that it was a defensive match. Both teams defened very good and our gooalkeeper, Nico, stop a lot of balls. In the second half, we get a distance of five goals and we won the first match on the history of Club Joventut Roses! I only scored two goals but I think I did a good defense. The maximum scorer was Sergio Gómez (our pivot) who scored 10 goals.
I felt very good to be a part of this awesome team, maybe they aren't the best handball players but they are the best team mates!

6-O Student's strike

Last 6 October, the INS Castelló d'Empúries Batxillerat students did strike. We protested against the goverment cuts in education. We think that politicans should to reduce their salaries. Also, they use too many money for militar things, as wars or increase policemen number. In fact, for 10€ we give to the State, 1€ is for military purposes.
On Wednesday 5, in highschool, some people of 1st and 2nd Batxillerat made three banners with differents missatges as "No a les retallades" (No to cuts) or "Som 40 a classe" (We are 40 in classroom). Also we protested against the TSJC's court ruling and we did a banner who said: "L'escola en català" (The school in catalan).
On Thursday 6, six students of 2nd Batxillerat went to Barcelona's demonstration. That's six students were Elvira, Maria, Núria, Clara, Manel and I. Also Sandra, IES Deulofeu's student, came with us. The demonestration started at 12:00 in Plaça Universitat and finished at 13.30 in Plaça Sant Jaume. The event was very peaceful and without important accidents.
I'm very pround of went to that demonstration, althrough it's probably we don't get nothing. I think that was a good expererience for me, not only by protests but also for share a wonderful day with friends.

Llança's camping

Last June, I and my friends (incluing people of English class) went to Llança for a few days. We stayed in a camping and pass togheter 3 days. These days were awesome days: all day with friends in the beach, without homework or job; at nights, party...

The first day was estrange for me: we met in Llançà on Monday 20 but some people couldn’t go that day. So the majority of us went to Llançà the next day. I arrived by car with my parents on Tuesday 21. When we arrrive to the camping we didn’t see nobody. My parents left and I phoned my friends. Maria told me that they was in Llança’s beach. Llançà’s beach is big, so I lost looking for the others. Finally after more than 1h lost, I found they at 3.00 p.m. I didn’t have lunch and they did. So I had to eat rests of their lunch. Aforunatly, the rest of the day was normal.

When I remeber these days, I feel very good and relaxed so it’s useful think in Llançà camping times in difficult moments. Sometimes, we talk about repeat that experience but with 2^nd Batxillerat, TdR and Selectivitat is impossible do it again (for the moment).

FCBarcelona - RMadrid

Last two weeks Futbol Club Barcelona and Real Madrid have played four times between them! They played three competitions: Spanish League (the first match), King's Cup (the second match) and UEFA Champions League (the third and fourth matches).
The first match was very adjusted: Barça get the possetion of ball but Madrid defended very good. Unfortunatly for Jose Mourinho, Madrid coach, in the 51th minute Raul Albiol (Madrid) comete penalty. The referee showed red card to Albiol and Lionel Messi (Barça) scored the penalty. After twenty minutes Dani Alves (Barça) did penalty and Cristiano Ronaldo (Madrid) scored. Finally, the first match finished 1-1. This match was the less important because in Spanish League, Barça get 8 points more than Madrid.
The second match was more important because the team who win the match, win the King's Cup. In the first half Madrid get more oportunites for score but the players didn't score. In the second part was very different, Barça get the ball again and the oportunites. The 90 minutes finished 0-0, so they had to play the extra time. In these time both teams were tried but in the 102 minute, Cristiano Ronaldo scored and obligated Barça score for go to penalties round. Barça didn't scored and Madrid won the first cup in two years.
The third match was the most contrversial of four matches. This match was the 1st leg and was played in Santiago Bernabeu (Madrid's field). Mourinho proposed a defensive match (for finish 0-0 and score some goal in Barcelona) but in minute 60 Pepe (Madrid) saw red-card. This provoced the anger of Mourinho who also saw red-card. Since these moment Barça attack a lot for score and get adventatge for the 2nd leg. The match finished 0-2 with two scores of Lionel Messi.
After the match, Mourinho said: "Today has been shown that at Barcelona you have no chance. For UEFA does not leave any of the other teams play against them and I don't understand why."
The last match (the 2nd leg of the Champions Semifinals) was so intense. Madrid wanted score at the beginning for go back. Barça controled the match and arrived at 2nd half 0-0. In the 2nd half Madrid atacked more but was Barça who scored first (Pedro). Madrid didn't lose the hope and score  (Marcelo). The match finished, Barça arrived to Wembley's final and the four "clássics" in two weeks finished.
